In the surroundings you can discover fascinating places!
Canavese
The Canavese is a territory rich in culture, history, art and traditions. Located north of the province of Turin, in the direction of the Aosta Valley passes, since ancient times it was a crossroads of important commercial activities with Europe. The Canavese is crossed by the Via Francigena, therefore it was frequented by pilgrims who in the Middle Ages were directed to the most important centers of worship. Ivrea, the beautiful, surrounds it with an incredible series of public and private castles, in turn immersed in the green of the countryside and in the intoxicating scent of the Erbaluce and Passito vineyards! Our proposal is ideal for those who do not want the usual itineraries, but intend to discover fascinating places far from the tourist crowds.
Monferrato
Located in Piedmont, between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, Munfrà, as it is called in dialect, is a region rich in traditions, history and food and wine wonders, so much so that in 2014, together with the nearby Langhe and Roero, it obtained the recognition of Unesco World Heritage Site. These fascinating places will lead you to discover the best this land has to offer! The hills, characterized by gentle slopes colored by the passing of the seasons, dominate the landscape in the central part of the region. From the Ghenza Valley to Castagnole Monferrato, the Ruchè wine country, passing through the Vignalese and along the Mandoletta road, you can admire Rosignano, Cella Monte and Frassinello, small villages surrounded by quiet where you can visit the famous Infernot, the typical caves dug under the houses where the wines were kept. And then Asti, a very important and splendidly preserved medieval town, with the famous palio and the many tourist attractions related to food and wine, where you can get lost in the streets of the center to admire the palaces and churches. Monferrato, on the northern borders, is also a plain, rice fields and a river environment. Casale Monferrato, capital of the region, with a glorious past and bathed by the Po, is a must. The historic center with its palaces, the Cathedral and the civic tower are a wonderful example of Casalese baroque. And it is here that you can appreciate the largest rice growing area in Italy, which extends right between Piedmont and Lombardy. Moving towards the south, reaching the Liguria region, you come to the Alto Monferrato. Acqui Terme, known for its healing thermal springs, Novi Ligure, defined as the little Genoa and Gavi with the famous Fort and the medieval structure perfectly faithful to the past, are just some of the many small treasures that can be visited in these parts.
